When Gloucester CAMRA approached the local Hillside Brewery in 2015 with an idea to create a new beer in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal the brewery set about the task with gusto, producing the fantastic ‘ANZAC’ Ale. In 2016 we are proud to once again sponsor the Royal British Legion and Hillside have again risen to the challenge, producing their new “Finest Hour” ale.
Paul Williamson from Hillside Brewery says “We are really happy to be supporting the Royal British Legion by launching a beer brewed specifically to help raise funds for them – drinking beer and supporting charity! We have used 3 local hops (First Gold, Olicana & Jester) a couple of which are great new British hops with limited availability, grown 22 miles away by Mark Andrews to produce a fruity golden ale at 3.6% ABV. We hope you will raise a glass with us for such a good cause.”
The RBL are more than pleased to work with the Beer Festival guys again and all three parties, CAMRA, RBL and Hillside got together at Hillside’s Longhope Brewery to launch the new ‘Finest Hour’ ale, take a peek at our gallery below
The beer is also available from the brewery in bottles, a small donation from each sale will go the the Poppy Appeal.by admin and comments are closed.
